KGC Face Mask
Why We Are Making Masks:
Doctors, nurses, delivery drivers and store clerks are on the front lines facing the COVID-19 crisis. Some are out of masks, while others are close to running out. What we need to do is practice the CDC and WHO recommendations so we can help slow and stop the spread of the virus. Wearing masks can help slow the spread.
As a socially responsible company, we want to be a part of the movement in slowing the spread by making cloth masks for the general public that are comfortable, durable and reasonably priced.
We have the materials and the know-how to make them. Join us in this movement. Don’t go out in public without wearing a mask. Wearing a mask is better than wearing no mask at all. Our reusable mask was designed by real nurses in the field. We have transitioned our factory in making these masks for adults and children. Our masks are NOT substitutes for N95 Surgical or other medical grade masks. They will not prevent you from getting sick and they are NOT FDA approved.
How We Are Staying Safe:
The well-being of our teammates and consumers is our top priority. From a manufacturing perspective, we operate a clean facility, staggered work schedules, practice social distancing and provide additional safety steps to help protect and support our teammates.
The CDC (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/faq.html), the World Health Organization (https://www.who.int/news-room/q-a-detail/q-a-coronaviruses), as well as the Surgeon General have indicated that there is currently no evidence that COVID-19 is being spread through the mail.
Specifically, according to the World Health Organization, “the likelihood of an infected person contaminating commercial goods is low and the risk of catching the virus that causes COVID-19 from a package that has been moved, traveled, and been exposed to different conditions and temperature is also low.” And according to the CDC, “in general, because of poor survivability of these Coronaviruses on surfaces, there is likely very low risk of spread from products or packaging that are shipped over a period of days or weeks at ambient temperatures. Coronaviruses are generally thought to be spread most often by respiratory droplets. Currently there is no evidence to support transmission of COVID-19 associated with imported goods and there have not been any cases of COVID-19 in the United States associated with imported goods.”
How To Use The Mask:Insert a filter: Insert a disposable filter cut into the inner pocket of the mask. Search the internet for DIY (do it yourself) filters. After use, the filter should be disposed and the mask should be washed at high temperature and dried at high temperatures.
Insert a Pipe Cleaner: You are welcome to add a pipe cleaner, twist tie or any thin metal at the top of the mask and sew in after.
Filter Options: Look for HEPA grade filters. You can also make your own out of vacuum cleaner.
Fit: To reduce airflow, ensure the mask sits snuggly on the face. You can also use double-sided tap to secure the mask on the nose and cheeks.
